Gemma Atkinson Mini Bio - Gemma Louise Atkinson was born on 16th November 1984 in Bury, Greater Manchester, England. She went to Castlebrook High School where she was very involved with different school activities including athletics and she was a big sports fan and at that point was never really interested in modelling or acting. However, after being persuaded by her mum to go to an audition, she started out by doing some commercial acting and some photographic modelling.

In 2001, Gemma landed the role which was to make her famous in the UK, namely as Lisa Hunter in the acclaimed soap drama on Channel 4, Hollyoaks. She was an overnight success and due to her stunning good looks, she quickly became many a young boy's favourite poster girl, and she was still only 17 years old.

In 2004, Gemma expanded her role as Lisa Hunter as the Hollyoaks producers created a number of different spin off shows which allowed them to concentrate on their slightyl more mature audiences. With the restrictions of the earlier timeslots in which Hollyoaks is screened lifted, Gemma became an overnight sex symbol, which resulted in more and more sexy model shoots for UK magazines such as Arena, Zoo Weekly, Maxim and Loaded.

More recently, Gemma has started to turn her attention back toward the acting side of thing with a role in Brit Flick 'Boggie Woofie' along side household names Jaime Winstone, Christopher Lee and Heather Graham. She can also be seen as one of the stars of Electronic Arts game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, where she plays Lt' Eva McKenna.
